Employment law defense is a broad area of law that encompasses aspects of civil rights litigation, contract disputes, and wage and hour litigation. Our attorneys have handled a variety of cases throughout Missouri and Illinois. In recent years, it has been more important than ever to track current developments in employment law, as there have been significant changes in recent years to the statutes and decisional law that govern the outcomes.
James Craney publishes and presents frequently regarding developments in this area. He is the vice-chair of the employment law committee for the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel (“IDC”). Additionally, our lawyers have successfully defended employment law matters filed in both state and federal courts, and before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”), the Missouri Commission on Human Rights, and the Illinois Human Rights Commission. We have obtained summary judgments in employment matters, ranging from claims of human rights violations, to retaliatory discharge.
